Older cell phone with camera?

I have an older cell phone that has a camera. It is a Sprint Samsung that my sister gave me. Sprint told me that they cannot activate it because it is to old, but I don't think that it is really that old. Why can't it be activated? What a waste.

it is because cell phone carriers are changing the frequency that they use all the time in order to get the best quality... so some phones...older ones... may not use that frequency because they might of changed it..Sorry just save up and get a new phone...
