Graphics Card ( HD4870 X2 ) Should this setup work?
Hey guys.. I know a fair bit about computers but one thing i haven't looked up on is Graphics Cards.
I'm thinking of buying 2x Sappire HD4870 X2 so i have ( Four ) graphics cards.
Just Wondering, This Card is AMD. I have an Asus Stiker 2 extreme Motherboard with Intel CPU Quad Core Will this Work? do you think?
Also When installing them, Do i use the 2way SLI band that i received in my accessory box? or does it come with the GFX cards when u buy them such as a crossfire 2way SLI band. Thank you. ( Also have a 3way SLI chip but its more expensive buying 3 GTX260-280's and not as quick as the HD4870 X2 ).
Also: Is my board ( crossfire Ready ) - Have no idea what that is.
Edit: Ok, here is the difference.
For Nvidia video cards, running 2 or more together is called SLI, which uses a SLI bridge connector.
With ATI video cards, running 2 or more is called crossfire, which uses a crossfire bridge connector.
The Asus Stiker 2 extreme supports SLI but not crossfire.
So the answer is... No. If the motherboard was "crossfire ready", then this setup would probably work.
