wireless internet not working?

I have a Actiontec wireless router from Verizon. I am running Windows XP on my laptop, I need this to work wireless. I had my router hooked up to desktop, and my Belkin 54g wireless card gets an excellent reading. I have input my WEP key and still I cant access internet. Driving me crazy! I am using laptop, and online using Ethernet cable.

If it has a WEP key it might require you to manually add your computer to the network (from the router) and then it will know your computer is a computer allowed to connect to the network. Then all you have to do is enter the WEP key and it will work as well as your desktop wireless
