Instead of buying the expensive ipod, can I buy a Blackberry Pearl and add memory card?

How much would extra memory cost (8Gb and above)? WHats the max memory size available for this slot (is it SDmicro card)? Can a Blackberry Pearl play all audio/video formats? Can I attach an FM transmitter to listen to songs in the car? What would be the limitations of this approach vs buying an ipod?

i don't think A blackberry pearl won't accept an 8gb memory card besides, it's not built soley for the music function so getting one and using it for the music function could kill the battery very easily. on the other hand, the ipod is more based on music
