Shutter sounds without prompt?
A little background: The lap top I just got has a built in camera.
I have NOT used the camera, looked at properties , settings or anything else that has to do with the built in cam.
I have wowever, placed over the lens etc. (everything that is not a rubber~plastic bump that sets in an opening when I close the lap top): a few sheets of sticky paper, just in case "they" can see (for whatever reason) whatever can be seen through that lens.......
Here is my question:
Why does this computer "snap" ~the sound of a shutter every few hours?
It sounds exactally like the shutter on my cell phone, that by the way only "snaps" when I take a picture with it.?????????????????
The camera settings are still on default, so maybe it's programmed to take a pic every hour, that can be changed in camera settings.
Another thing they can be used for is facial recognition, so the laptop comes out of sleep mode only if it sees a face it recognises (i.e. yours). Maybe a bit of OTT technology, but handy in a crowded office.
If all else fails then READ THE MANUAL.
