Will Apple help me replace my LCD for my iPod Touch 2nd Generation (2g)?
I just bought an iPod Touch 2nd generation 8GB from my friend, because he just got an iPhone, for $25. I know that you're thinking "25 dollars?!?! That's so cheap!" But really, it has 3 scratches/cracks along the screen. It doesn't affect anything though, it's just annoying to look at. The touch screen works perfectly and is still as sensitive.
But, now that I've researched, I've seen that you can get a replacement LCD with tools to replace it with on eBay for $20. It comes with the repair kit, LCD and digitizer. Sadly, I don't know what any of that means, but apparently a lot of people have been replacing their iTouch's screens.
So, do you think that if I bought a new screen that Apple would help me replace it at the Genius Bar? (If I reserve a meeting time&place with them)

I doubt it. If Apple is going to do the repair, they're going to use their tools and parts. It doesn't cost anything to ask them though.
