Dell Axim X50 doesnt turn on?, doesnt show up in my computer either?? please help?

Ok so i got about 4 months ago,a used Dell Axim X50 from a friend,without the cradle or a syncing cable,for all this months i kept in the case and today i finally got a syncing cable for it,now i plugged in to the dell axim then the usb to the computer and im not getting anything,just the power lighting very dimly an orange light when i unplug it,the light goes off,I dont get the screen to come on,can someone please help me,is it because it hasnt been charged in months,thanks for your help in advance!

The battery sounds like it may be dead. Try to charge it, if it still doesn't work then it is possible that the battery may need replacing. All this time did you properly store the Axim away from extreme temperatures. The battery may have exploded or ceased to function, or perhaps it never actually worked to begin with. Although since you say that it came from a friend I don't think that would be the case. Good luck.
