My iPod won't turn on or respond, but it gets warm when plugged in. Can I revive it?
I have an iPod video that is over three years old. It's been showing its age over the past year, but as of yesterday it doesn't work at all. I plugged it into my computer with a USB cable and it doesn't turn on or show up on the desktop or iTunes. It worked briefly when I plugged it into a cigarette lighter adapter in the car, but it stopped working after a little while.
I plugged my brother's iPod (same model and everything) into my computer with the same cable and it worked fine. So it's not the cable.
The screen is completely blank. It seems to just be dead.
But while I was looking up ways to fix it I left it plugged into my computer, and I've noticed that it's gotten warm around the area of the back/rewind button on the clickwheel. Is this some sign of life? Please help! I know after going on 4 years it's probably best to just buy another iPod, and I will if I have to, but is there any way to revive my poor iPod?
battery's dead. wow three years is a pretty good time. usually its around 70 bucks to replace a battery without warranty
