How do you connect a bluetooth to the phone?

I have a Verizon wireless Pink Ravr V3C and I have a bluetooth headset, not sure of the brand for the bluetooth. I previously used the bluetooth with another phone so I know it works but I cannot get the Ravr to even find the bluetooth headset. Is there a way to do this on the phone? What I have been doing is going to connections on my phone, then bluetooth, then handsfree then search for devices, all the while I am doing this, I have my headset turned on and right next to my phone. Is there another way of doing this so that the phone finds it? Thanks

I had that problem when hubby decided he didn't want his Bluetooth...what was wrong was that it was still programmed to HIS phone. So if you used your Bluetooth with your old phone, make sure to disconnect it and deprogram it from your old phone. Once he did that, it connected to mine with no problems. Hope that helps!
