Is it possible to unlock a Cdma Cell Phone to use it with a GSM provider?
Is it possible to use some sort of custom programmed SIM card? It seems like that's what the kid who unlocked the iPhone for T-Mobile used. (Yes, I do know that the iPhone is GSM as well as T-Mobile)
Short answer is no.
GSM and CDMA are different standards. When you unlock a phone, you can then use it on a different carrier's network so long as it also uses. Unlocking a GSM phone won't suddenly make it work on a CDMA network and vis versa. Some carriers, however, use more than one standard.
