Can you get prepaid minutes without a special phone?
I cut off service to my Cingular Cell Phone a few months ago, and I'm wondering if I can buy prepaid minutes for it without having to get a special "go phone." If so, are there activation fees involved?
You can use the same handset that you used previously provided it is of current technology (GSM purchased after Cingular took over AT&T or it is an Unlocked Gsm Phone) however, you may need to purchase a new SIM card (usually around $25) and get it reactivated. Should take no longer than about 15 minutes. Go to any at&t dealer and tell them you want to activate your phone as a GoPhone. Pay for the SIM and buy the aircard. make sure you charge your battery before you go.
