is this light ok to put in a cold water tank?

but i think i have the bigger one, will this light fit on to this typ lid thou?
That tank is far to small for a goldfish- it's about four gallons, whereas goldfish should have a 20 gallon tank with double filtration, as they grow HUGE in proper care and produce a lot of waste. I couldn't get the link for your light, but I like using fluorescent lights on my hood (make sure they are the right size) because they don't heat the water too much and look beautiful.
Having a 20 gallon tank is worth it in the long run. They aren't that expensive- you could probably go on craigslist and get one for as low as 20 dollars, and your goldfish will be healthier, happier, much more entertaining, less work, and much more vibrant.
